Belinda Kings Football Academy
BK FC was founded in 2018 with the aim of gathering youth with disadvantaged background from Nationwide but
making Cape Town a mother City for everyone. BK FA has 150 youth registered in its data base, it is structured in 6
divisions.
The Story
BK FA recruit youngsters Nationwide from all provinces of RSA. Our scouting focal point is at underprivileged communities. We provide Scouted young man with clubhouse for accommodation and register them under National main stream government schools since they relocate to join our sport institution. Our mandate is to become an bridge youth can use to achieve their dreams, by either becoming professional sport man or academic professional. Our organization offers youth influx of exposure in sport, infinite academic opportunities and provide financial support and guidance for life skills programs e.g Obtaining of Driving license ect... Our primary goal is football and our milestone is to obtain a professional football premier league status in the near future. Within the 6years of Belinda kings Football Academy existence we have achieved 16 Trophies , We are recognized as one of the top 10 football academy in Cape Town , we are fortunate to have access to participate in high performance development youth football of Cape Town .Every year we partake in National youths Tournaments e.g., Engen, Coke Cup, Bayhill etc.….Through our excellency we have produced several players who has received recognition & got recruited to train with big teams such as Cape Town City FC, Royal AM FC , Stellenbosch FC & UWC Ladies .we have even managed to produce 2 players to represent RSA at National level .Since 90% of our players comes from underprivileged communities , some being orphans others raised by single parents (woman in particular) BK FA offers accommodation & daily nutritional plan.
Why Belinda kings?
Our football academy is named after Belinda Kene a former Pollsmoor prison warden, a retired correctional service administrative officer, a professional social worker, a single mother, a divorcee that dedicated 24 years of her life advocating safety and discipline in communities of South Africa through prison rehabilitation sport programs.
Through Belinda Kene spirit of Ubuntu we were inspired to establish our Academic & sport institution. The ideology behind naming our project after her was a token of appreciation for all she has done for societies of RSA. We intend to celebrate her life together with her by spreading the love and care to the world ‘’we chose to give her, flowers while she is still alive” Belinda kene life journey is a true definition that reflects struggles or challenges Township & Cape Flats woman of South Africa go through on daily basis, her life journey also highlight their achievements and small victories.
OUR VISION
The Founding basis of our after-School Education Program was to motivate & support youth to become complete educated & responsible sportsman. The complete vision of the program is to equip our students with literacy development and academic excellence that will take them to tertiary institutions level, and allow them to have a choice to choose academic streams that are more relevant and are in demand in the labour market so that they can secure stable careers after graduating. Our mainly focus is on vital disciplines like Mathematics, Mathematics Literacy, English, Physics and IsiXhosa, using the CAPS curriculum. We work with retired ex professional teachers as tutors, highly qualified with experience, as they have worked so many years under government institutions. Our purpose is to assist students in carrying the load of understanding their school work and improving their academic performance successfully, so that they can reach the tertiary institution level and secure their future careers. The need for BK After School Education Program was derived from BK FA (Belinda Kings Football Academy) we wanted to balance our player’s sport excellence with their academic excellence so that they get the opportunity to excel in both academic & sport career convincingly.
Our Mission
Our mission it to establish a safe after school community hub that will expand our education segment to accommodate every child from underprivileged societies of South Africa. We aim to produce academic professionals that will look after the future generation and change the negative economic stigma of our villages, Townships & Cape Flats.
BELINDA KINGS VOCALISTS
Through team spirit songs, we sing @ dressing room on match days. We discovered that we can form a vocalist’s group that we can transform to a busking group. Since our youth programs are not funded, we than decided to use our sweet voices as an economic tool of raising funds for our organization daily needs, expenses & activities. We use music as a therapeutic tool, sign of joy & to heal our souls. BK VOCALISTS sings Acapella genre using their sweet voices to tell our story.
